- If you're an aspiring California gardner like me, and have a background/appreciation for the biology of plants, you'll love this book! It's a little intimidating at first, but the more you relax and just take it in small bites, you'll find it's dense full of information about plant care. It feels kind of like your highschool biology book at times and then also dives into more hands on techniques in other parts. It's a fun read full of information, not so much of a "how to garden" book. Hope this helps!

Whether it's how to grow something, or what to do to get rid of a stubnorn pest, organic or not, manual or chemical, stuff i n most households or go to Amnazon and order it, like the spaghetti sauce commercial used to say, "It's IN there!"

- So many time I read this book and thought, "man, if only I knew this before I...." It's comprehensive so not a light read, but by far the best book on maintaining a landscaped property.
- Great book for home gardening. I especially like the detailed index at the back of the book. It makes it easy to look up information on vegetable and fruit tree growing and care. Good price too.
